About Echoes of Battle

History hits harder when you command it. Echoes of Battle is an independent project that tells the greatest battles ever fought, scene by scene.

Our mission

Make history something you experience

Most of us met these battles as a paragraph in a textbook. Echoes of Battle turns them back into what they were: decisions, terrain, courage and consequence. Across 40 battles and 7 eras, from Marathon to Berlin, we tell them in story scenes (22 so far), pin each to its real map, and let you test yourself.

Who makes it

Maksymilian Mogielnicki

I'm Maksymilian Mogielnicki, I'm from Poland, and I make Echoes of Battle on my own. Military history is my passion and I taught it to myself. I'm not a professional historian, and that is exactly why every figure on this site is tied to a named source you can check.

I'm also the author of physical games, the kind you hold in your hands, and I have experience in marketing.

I build the app and write the Field Dispatch, our blog, in English and Polish. AI tools help me edit, translate and check the texts, but I check the sources and decide what goes live. If you spot a mistake, write to me at contact@echoesofbattle.com and I'll fix it.

It's an independent project, not a big studio. The app is free, in English and Polish, and currently in closed testing on Google Play.

How we write

Accuracy first, no invented numbers

Every battle on our blog, the Field Dispatch, is researched from established histories and told in plain, vivid language. We hedge figures the way the sources do, we never invent statistics, and where historians disagree we say so. The full rules are in our editorial policy. Found something wrong? Tell us at contact@echoesofbattle.com and we will fix it.

Follow along

Be first in the ranks at launch

The app is in closed testing while we build toward launch and a Kickstarter. The best way to follow is our free email dispatches, sent from the build as we march toward launch. Enlist for launch, read the Field Dispatch, or see the press and education kit.
