Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Echoes of Battle, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Description of Service
Echoes of Battle is an educational mobile application that provides immersive audio narrations of historical battles, artifact collection, GPS battlefield detection, quizzes, and classroom features. The app is currently in testing on Google Play (Android); an iOS version is planned.
User Accounts
You may use the app as a guest or sign in with Google or Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Guest accounts store data only on your device and cannot be recovered if lost.
In-App Purchases
Echoes of Battle offers in-app purchases including:
- Coin packs (consumable virtual currency)
- Season Battle Pass (per-season premium content)
- Era unlocks and cosmetic items (purchased with in-game coins)
All purchases are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Prices are displayed in your local currency. Refunds are handled according to the respective store policies.
Virtual Currency
Ducats (in-game coins) are virtual currency with no real-world value. They cannot be exchanged for real money or refunded outside of store policies. Coins may change hands only through in-app features we provide, such as the auction house; direct account-to-account transfers are not permitted. Coin balances may be adjusted if we detect fraud or abuse.
Classroom Mode
The Classroom Mode is designed for educational environments. Teachers (hosts) create sessions with PIN codes. Students join sessions on their own devices. Session data is stored temporarily (4-hour expiry) and is not used for purposes other than the educational session.
Intellectual Property
All content in Echoes of Battle, including narrations, artwork, UI design, and educational content, is protected by copyright. Historical facts and dates are in the public domain, but our creative presentation is proprietary. Historical images are sourced from the public domain or under permissive, commercially-compatible licenses (e.g. Public Domain, CC0, or CC BY with attribution); we do not use share-alike (CC BY-SA) assets. Required attributions are listed in the in-app Credits screen.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the app
- Use automated tools to interact with the app
- Exploit bugs or glitches for unfair advantage
- Share or sell your account credentials
- Use the classroom mode for non-educational purposes that could harm students
Limitation of Liability
Echoes of Battle is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for data loss, service interruptions, or inaccuracies in historical content. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the last 12 months.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification.
