Guess the Battle

Quiz · 10 rounds · 4 min · Free · Updated October 2026

Step onto the field and see how many you know. Each round drops you into a famous battle, told from the inside, and you name which one it is. Each game draws ten scenes at random from a pool of forty, from the ancient world to the twentieth century, with the full story a click away after every answer.

The pool spans all seven eras, five to seven battles from each: Thermopylae, Salamis and Cannae in the ancient world, Hastings, Grunwald and Constantinople in the Middle Ages, Lepanto and Vienna, Austerlitz and Waterloo, Gettysburg and Balaclava, then Verdun, the Somme, Midway and Stalingrad. Every game takes at least one scene from each era, and each new round puts scenes you have not played yet first.
